Household Hazardous Waste

Clean Harbors conducts thousands of household hazardous waste (HHW) and pesticide collection programs throughout North America collecting paints, solvents, batteries, fluorescent lamps, pesticides, cleaners and other hazardous materials during these one-day, multi-day and mobile programs.

Our HHW specialists work closely with customers to identify short and long-term objectives, as well as explore viable options that can lower liability and maximize fiscal resources.  We meet the challenges unique to your community or organization with strict compliance to all federal, state, provincial, and local environmental, health and safety regulations.

HHW Recycling and Reclamation

Clean Harbors is committed to recycling and reclaiming wastes using a variety of methods. We identify opportunities for waste reduction and provide options that may have previously been unavailable to you.  We also offer a material reuse program that collects new or slightly used, unwanted products and makes them available for reuse by the community. Reuse of these materials, which must meet stringent criteria, reduces waste and lowers disposal costs.

Staffing and Site Plans

Prior to each collection event, a Clean Harbors specialist meets with the event sponsor to tailor the collection event to the sponsor’s needs.

HHW Transportation and Disposal

Clean Harbors extensive fleet of licensed transportation vehicles is critical to providing turnkey environmental management services to our clients. We maintain all required state, provincial and federal permits and licenses for transporting all waste generated at the collection events.  Our various state-of-the-art disposal technologies allow our clients to choose the method that best suits their needs.
