Voluntary Protection Program

Clean Harbors VPP Overview

Approval into the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) is OSHA’s official recognition of the outstanding efforts by employers and employees who have achieved exemplary occupational safety and health. Clean Harbors has excelled in its pursuit of VPP status at its waste processing facilities.

VPP promotes worksite-based safety and health. In this program, management, labor and OSHA establish cooperative relationships at workplaces that have implemented a comprehensive safety and health management system.

Clean Harbors is committed to safety and health. For more than ten years, Clean Harbors waste processing facilities have been participating in the OSHA Voluntary Protection Program. Clean Harbors currently has six hazardous waste management facilities admitted into the VPP Star program, and additional sites are in various stages of the VPP process.
