Clean Harbors DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) Controlled Substance Management Services provide the secure transportation and complete destruction of DEA controlled substances, and ensures compliance with EPA and DEA requirements.  We handle all types of substances including off-spec product and out-of-date or returned products that are high in value and require safe and secure disposal.

DEA Approved Reverse Distributor

As a registered DEA Pharmaceutical Reverse Distributor, Clean Harbors provides an effective solution for managing Schedule I-V Controlled Substances from the initial pickup to transportation and complete destruction.  Clean Harbors assumes full chain-of-custody ownership of these regulated substances at the customer site.  We complete the administration of agency required shipping and receiving documentation, and as a cost savings, eliminate the need for a customer to witness the destruction of the controlled substances.

We complete all the various forms and paperwork including, but not limited to, DEA Form 222 (for Schedule I and II) or Form 41 (for Schedule III, IV, V substances).

Management of Small Quantity Product from Registrants

Small quantities of materials are secured and transported via Federal Express or UPS Ground while larger drum quantity shipments of DEA Controlled Substances and/or combined DEA/EPA regulated mixtures are safely routed from campus laboratories to a Clean Harbors owned incinerator for destruction.

Paperwork and Shipment

Our personnel complete the required DEA transfer paperwork from the customer to Clean Harbors.  Company owned trucks deliver the material to company owned facilities.  Clean Harbors’ resources manage the shipment from your dock to our facility.
