Clean Harbors designs and operates special household hazardous waste (HHW) programs that allow you to focus collection efforts on high volume or otherwise problematic waste streams.

Special waste collection programs are often eligible for special grant funding and often involve fewer regulatory requirements, provide a greater collection and recycling opportunity for the community, and are often less costly to operate than full-scale HHW program collection events.

Electronic Waste (e-Waste) Collection and Recycling

Electronic waste collection programs focus on the collection of e-waste including computer monitors, televisions, computer components, and consumer electronic devices.  Clean Harbors offers total recycling of e-waste.

Pharmaceutical Waste Collection and Disposal

Pharmaceutical waste collection programs are designed to collect pharmaceutical waste including prescription and over-the-counter medications as well as personal care products.

Mercury Waste Collection and Disposal

Mercury waste collection programs focus on the collection of mercury waste including thermometers, switches, lamps, thermostats, and other mercury-containing equipment.  Clean Harbors can also assist in implementing a thermometer exchange program, which provides residents with a new mercury-free thermometer in exchange for their elemental mercury one.

Recycle-only waste collection programs focuses on recyclable waste streams such as antifreeze, batteries, oil, and paint.
