Clean Harbors manages dissociated compounds due to damaged, defective or leaking cylinders using a variety of techniques.  Whether performing a cryogenic valve replacement procedure, utilizing our tapping equipment, or incorporating one of cylinder overpacks, Clean Harbors has the technology and expertise your situation requires.

Clean Harbors has found that up to 90% of compressed gas cylinders containing corrosive material have inoperable valves upon prolonged storage.  However, these cylinders still contain material and many of the valves are stuck in the open position.  This creates a major safety hazard during the movement and transportation of the cylinder especially when encountering major fluctuations in temperature.

Another potential problem with corrosive gas cylinders is the unwanted buildup of hydrogen due to the chemical decomposition of the target material inside the cylinder causing numerous cylinder failures releasing toxic, corrosive and flammable material.
