Clean Harbors Marine Booming and Line Handling Services provide booming for ship and barges and line handling for tie-off or let go to shipping agents, port facilities, oil terminals, and vessel owners in ports throughout the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.

Booming Services

Vessels are boomed off while at dock when loading or off-loading.  Ships can also be boomed off at anchorage while one vessel pumps fuel to another.

Line Handling

Clean Harbors provides line handling on the waterfront to shipping agents, port facilities, oil terminals, and vessel owners.  We either tie-off or let go the lines from the vessel at the dock.

Oil Spill Removal Organization (OSRO)

Under the U.S. Coast Guard’s (OSRO) Classification Program, Clean Harbors holds Captain of the Port ratings for Facilities and Vessels in more than 40 ports throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico.  Our abilities include the deployment of hard boom and recovery of product on land and water (skimming, pumps, vacuum trucks), and temporary storage and disposal.  Many coastal Clean Harbors service centers hold Coast Guard approved Marine Operations Manuals for ship-to-shore transfers of oily waste and cargo.

Onboard Services

Onboard services include oil, chemical, gray water, septic, potable water, and ballast tank, bilge, void cleaning and inspection to meet ABS standards.

Port and Facility Operational Support

Clean Harbors provides protective booming for ship and barges and line handling for tie-off or let go at ports.  Crews work closely with shipping agents, port engineers, tug companies and vessel masters to assist with the timely movement of vessels.

Emergency Response and Response Readiness

Effectively handling any size release, we provide emergency response and response readiness for oil and chemical spills on water and land throughout U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.  Under the U.S. Coast Guard’s (OSRO) Classification Program, Clean Harbors holds Captain of the Port ratings for Facilities and Vessels in more than 40 ports throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico.  Our response crews and Strike Team work closely with all national response organizations, spill management teams, and federal, provincial and state agencies.

Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Waste Disposal/Recycling

Clean Harbors offers Hazardous and Non-hazardous Waste Disposal and Recycling Services, for materials including oily slops, black water and gray water.

Vessel Decommissioning and Abatement

Clean Harbors provides Decommissioning, Cleaning, and Abatement Services to shipyards, dry docks and breaking facilities for commercial and military vessels scheduled for breaking, scraping or reefing.

Offshore Facility Services

We provide services to offshore and near shore petroleum facilities and support vessels in both the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Maritimes from drilling and waste disposal, tank and pipeline cleaning and inspections, to full rig cleaning.
